Wind Power: A wind energy system is simply a method of extracting the energy from the wind and converting it into useful energy. Canada has huge wind energy potential.  Modern wind turbines for residential use are available between 500 Watts and 20 Kilowatts and use modern rare earth magnets for high efficiency.  They require a tower of 20 to 60 feet high, depending on turbine size and terrain.
